Typically, planners require a bill-of-materialsexplosion (including semi-finished goods, components, rawmaterials, and so on) if they are procuring supplies directlyfrom tier-two suppliers or external manufacturers andpackagers. This scenario is illustrated in Figure 1.In the second scenario, planners do not require a fullbill-of-materials explosion because they are not pro-curing a substantial portion of the product components. For example, they may rely on contract manufacturersto provide the manufacturing, assembly, and upstreamsupplier relationships. In this case, they may procure onlya few materials from tier-two suppliers. This scenario isillustrated in Figure 2.Unlocking the power ofcollaboration in yourplan-to-deliver processesFastTimely insights about capacityconstraints to help buildresiliencyScalableFaster and more cost-effectiveonboarding, speeding time tovalueFree for suppliersNo trading partner fees forstandard accountsProvenAlready in use by leadingenterprises
