MES stands for manufacturing execution system, a software solution used in manufacturing industries to manage, monitor, and control production processes on the factory floor. It serves as a bridge between enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and shop floor–control systems to help ensure that production processes are executed efficiently.

In manufacturing, MOM stands for manufacturing operations management. It includes the processes, systems, and software used to manage and optimise manufacturing operations throughout the production lifecycle. MOM covers a broader scope than a manufacturing execution system (MES), integrating aspects of the manufacturing process.

MII stands for manufacturing integration and intelligence. It's a software platform designed to offer real-time data integration, analysis, and reporting across systems in a manufacturing environment. MII connects shop-floor systems with business or operational systems, analysing data to improve decision making and enhance operational efficiency.

SAP Manufacturing Execution and SAP Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence are being retired, and version 15.5 is the final release.
