About SAP Labs India
SAP Labs India (SLI) is the fastest growing subsidiary of SAP, a multinational company that provides customers with world-class business solutions. Founded in November 1998, SAP Labs India drives SAP's product strategy, is responsible for SAP core solutions and provides product localization and India specific solutions. What is unique to SAP Labs India is that it represents the entire breadth of SAP product portfolio and contributes to SAP flagship products like the Business Technology Platform, SAP S/4 HANA, Financial Management, Supply Chain Management, CRM and Customer Experience, Spend Management, RISE with SAP, Sustainability and Business Networks.
SAP Labs India is present in 5 locations – Bangalore, Gurgaon, Pune, Mumbai and Hyderabad. Our holistic approach to innovation is customer-centric and agile. We focus on making innovation real by covering all areas of the innovation equation from user experience, business model design, and technology.
The Innovation
Innovation has always been at the core of SAP since its inception around 50 years ago. It is a part of our work life, and we innovate for our customers to be successful. We are promoting a culture of innovation within SAP Labs India through three main pillars.
Ground-up Innovation
Through an initiative called InnVent, we believe that every individual is a leader and should be enabled to act as one. Towards this motto, we are running one of the largest in-house startup school to coach our employees on everything to do with entrepreneurship. Participants get a lifelong of learning, while inculcating skills required for a leader or an entrepreneur. While many of them go on to launch their own start-ups, some also implement the learnings in their day jobs. In the six weeks of intensive curriculum, participants in the school, learn to think like an entrepreneur and innovate rapidly to meet customer demands.
Collaboration with Customers
We use Design thinking to collaborate with customers on their innovation journey. It helps us bring out precise, innovative solutions to address specific issues that our customers face. Through our India Experience Center, we showcase cutting-edge solutions and discuss how each of these can benefit our customers. It helps them understand what we have to offer and also helps us gain a deeper understanding of their pain points to create custom solutions that address their problems. We have a collaborative community and space called the HIVE, which encourages employees to come together and co-innovate, learn and share best practices across industries.
Ecosystem
Within our SAP Labs India campus, we house the SAP Startup Studio, our startup accelerator. It acts as a mirror for our development organization to see how startups can scope out a problem and address it quickly. This fits perfectly with SAP’s philosophy of fostering entrepreneurship and promoting innovation for growth and development. We also have the SAP Center for Digital Government (SCDG), that focuses on innovations in technology application for government service delivery, capacity building, and knowledge sharing, and thought leadership.

Autism at Work
Launched in 2013, SAP was the first global tech company to create a program to leverage the unique abilities of people with autism. After 5 years of launching this program in India, today we have 16 employees in the Autism at Work Program.
