comprehensive product genealogy – from raw materials
to finished products – enables transparency across your

With the SAP Business Network Material Traceability
solution, you can collaborate with suppliers and manu-
facturers to exchange data on quality, proof of origin, and
composition of substances. In this way, you can achieve

Tracing multi-ingredient products across
company boundaries
You can trace the genealogy of multi-ingredient products
across multitier supply chains by connecting SAP S/4HANA,
the SAP ERP application, or third-party systems with
SAP Business Network Material Traceability, as seen in
Figure 1. This integration enables you to extend supply
chain transparency and capture material provenance as
detailed in Figure 2. As a result, you can increase compli-
