YIAPL enlisted the services of Birlasoft Ltd for the
implementation of SAP S/4HANA on RISE (PCE). In the
course of this implementation, SAP Fiori Launchpad
was introduced for users to facilitate business process
operations.
Notably, access to the SAP Fiori Launchpad URL is
restricted to the company's VPN and is not publicly
accessible on the internet. The decision to limit
exposure on the internet is driven by significant
security considerations.
Consequently, due to these restrictions, YIAPL's CXO
executives are required to connect to the VPN to
access the URL and grant necessary approvals.
In order to overcome the challenges outlined earlier,
we have investigated the utilization of SAP Build Work
Zone, an extension of the Fiori Launchpad along with
SAP Mobile Start Application
Leveraging the existing subscription at YIAPL, we
configured the SAP Build Work Zone Standard Solution.
This configuration allowed YIAPL’s Users to access the
service over the internet. Additionally, we activated
the SAP Mobile Start Application, incorporating
widgets and smartwatch integration.
The implementation of SAP Mobile Start has
significantly enhanced the ease of approval processes
for YIAPL's CXOs.
• CXOs and users can now access the services without
the need for VPN, with Streamlined Access and
Enhanced User Experience
• Achieved enhanced security without the need for
exposing critical services to the internet, ensuring a
cost-effective solution.
• Approval processes for CXOs are now more
convenient and efficient, enhancing the overall user
experience.
• Leveraging existing resources optimally, minimizing
additional costs and ensuring efficient use of available
subscriptions.
