Experiencing and learning a new product can often feel overwhelming when you don’t know how to get
started. Basic trials are designed to help you by gently guiding you through the key workflows and core
features of SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP Datasphere, and SAP HANA Cloud.
Tips for basic trials:
• Once you begin the guided scenarios in the system, please take your time and read the
instructions carefully before performing the actions and clicking Next.
• Use Google Chrome browser for best user experience.
GENERAL QUESTIONS
What is a Basic Trial?
A basic trial lets new users get hands-on with a product and learn by walking them through key
workflows and core features in a guided manner. Each use case and workflow have its own guided
scenario, and users are shown what to do and where to click, along with explanations and descriptions
of each action and feature. We offer basic trials for SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP Datasphere, and SAP
HANA Cloud.
Note: A basic trial aims to introduce key workflows and core features so not all features are showcased
in the experience.
How do I register for a Basic Trial?
Go to these sap.com pages and click the “Experience” buttons (blue buttons) at the top of the pages.

What happens after I register for a Basic Trial?
After registering for a basic trial, you will immediately receive an email with information about the basic
trial and access to an SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP Datasphere or SAP HANA Cloud tenant. The account
and access details are also included in the welcome message sent immediately after registering.

How long will I have access to the Basic Trial systems?
You will have access to the basic trial systems for 30 days. Once the 30 days are up, you can re-register
for the basic trial.
What browsers are supported with the Basic Trial?
Only Google Chrome (recommended) and Microsoft Edge are supported.
What are the limitations of a Basic Trial?
The basic trial lets users try product capabilities and features hands-on, but only from a basic user
perspective. Users do not get administrative access to the basic trial system, nor can they bring in
additional data such as personal data files or company data.
SAP ANALYTICS CLOUD
What do users get with the SAP Analytics Cloud Basic Trial?
Users get an account and access to an SAP Analytics Cloud and SAP Datasphere system. In SAP
Analytics Cloud, users can save content to their own private folder. In SAP Datasphere, the account
comes with a Space (an isolated work area) for their exercises and learning steps.
What can I do in the SAP Analytics Cloud Basic Trial tenant?
All features are enabled for basic trial users except:
• Data Connections
• Data Modeling and Datasets
• Collaboration (features such as discussions, commenting, sharing, and scheduling)
• Admin (features such as security, content network, and more)
Can I explore SAP Analytics Cloud on my own without the guided feature?
Yes, users can step out of the guided scenario and go through the system independently but their
progress in the guided scenario will be lost. Users can step back into the guided scenario, but they
must start back at the beginning of the guided scenario. It is recommended to complete the scenarios
first to learn about the main capabilities of SAP Analytics Cloud and then continue exploring on their
own.
