The opportunity
Scaling intralogistics beyond manual coordination and human limits
For Martur Fompak International, leading the next phase of manufacturing was a matter of turning digital intelligence into physical action. In addition to the efficient, people-driven processes it already had in place, the company partnered with SAP to explore how integrating embodied AI-powered robotics could redefine material flow. Using Joule and SAP’s Embodied AI, it now connects production signals and business context directly to autonomous execution to create a smarter intralogistics model. The result? Martur Fompak International is advancing beyond traditional automation, pioneering a scalable, intelligent factory that represents a new standard for the industry.
The solution
Embodied AI automates material flow
Martur Fompak International built an autonomous intralogistics model on SAP S/4HANA using Joule and the SAP Embodied AI service. The service enriched humanoid robots with knowledge of the task, its attributes, and exception handling. Guided by real-time business context—material data, storage locations, sequencing, and production priorities—provided via SAP’s Embodied AI from SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), the humanoid robots executed material flows across a live automotive manufacturing environment. These robots identify, transport, and deliver materials to the line while continuously confirming back into SAP. Together with autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and by turning enterprise intelligence into physical action, the company created a fully automated, scalable material flow that boosted throughput, improved accuracy, and reduced reliance on manual coordination.
Robotics industry experts power real world execution
Humanoid, a UK-based robotics and AI company, provided the platform that brought SAP-driven intelligence to life on the shop floor. Working closely with Martur Fompak International, the team trained and validated the robots using real production scenarios, then deployed them in a live factory environment. By integrating their fleet coordination system with SAP’s Embodied AI, Humanoid enabled seamless task execution from intake to delivery. The collaboration between the companies proved that AI-orchestrated robotics can move beyond concept to deliver reliable, real-world performance at scale.
The result
Increased throughput via autonomous robotic execution
Martur Fompak International uses Joule and SAP’s Embodied AI to enable business context-aware humanoid robots that execute end-to-end tasks without manual intervention. The shift increases future mass production throughput up to 5x while ensuring work orders are completed faster, more consistently, and with greater precision across production flows.
Improved accuracy and workplace safety by eliminating manual touchpoints
By connecting SAP EWM with business AI agents, material requests are triggered, prioritized, and executed automatically. Removing manual coordination reduces errors in line feeding and ensures reliable, repeatable delivery of materials to production, which in turn improves overall operational consistency. It also reduces strain and risk for Martur Fompak International employees when repetitive and physically demanding logistics tasks are handled by robots. With SAP-driven automation, which manages execution, teams can instead focus on higher-value work that improves productivity and supports continuous innovation.
Innovation that scales across operations
Innovation that scales across operations By building on SAP Business Technology Platform with SAP’s Embodied AI, Martur Fompak International created a scalable foundation for expanding autonomous operations across their operations while also supporting sustainability goals. Business-driven AI agents, workflows, and integrations enable faster rollouts and promote consistency.
