For the San Jose Sharks, a professional National Hockey League team, the world of
professional sports and entertainment is more than just fun and games. Success depends
not only on team performance but also on the efficiency and effectiveness of its behind-
the-scenes operations. Managed by Sharks Sports & Entertainment (SSE), SSE oversees
all operations, from ticket sales and marketing to parking and operations, for the team and
its primary venue, SAP Center at San Jose. There, SSE hosts a variety of concerts, family
shows, community events, as well as hockey games throughout the year.
Following the global health crisis, the Sharks looked to stabilize its workforce and pave
the way for more engaging employee experiences. To set the organization up for future
success, the Sharks transformed its HR and talent management operations in the cloud.
