Generative AI
models used by SAP
Which generative AI models
are used by SAP?
SAP chooses the AI models that are best suited for each generative AI
feature embedded in SAP solutions. Customers cannot change or choose
the underlying AI model used for these AI features.
For custom-built AI solutions and AI-powered extensions of SAP solutions
using SAP AI Core or SAP AI Launchpad, customers may choose from a large
list of available AI models and scenarios in the generative AI hub.
In both cases, SAP’s rights and obligations toward customers regarding the
use of generative AI models are governed by the SAP AI terms, which is
part of SAP's cloud services agreement.
Can customers choose the
generative AI model used for
a specific AI feature
embedded in one of the SAP
solutions?
No, customers cannot change or choose the AI model used for AI features
embedded in SAP solutions.
As new AI models enter the market and existing models evolve
technologically and commercially, SAP regularly evaluates which of the
available AI models is the most suitable for a given SAP solution.
SAP reserves the right to add, remove, or replace any AI model in the given
SAP solution at any time while adhering to the terms of SAP’s cloud services
agreement.
Can customers deploy their
own generative AI models?
Customers can access AI models hosted by SAP or third parties, either
natively in embedded AI features or through the generative AI hub in SAP AI
Core. Access to such AI models is subject to the customer’s cloud services
agreement with SAP, including the applicable security terms.
Customers can also access third-party AI models directly or deploy their
own AI models (including generative AI models) using SAP AI Core, the use
of which would be outside the scope of the customer’s cloud services
agreement with SAP.
