CHALLENGE: SOLUTION: OUTCOME:
Operations resiliency by scaling PepsiCo Platform
3
With functional and data optimizations this
platform can support the PepsiCo North
America business up to end of 2026
Improvement in time to process Sales
Orders, Delivery and Invoices.
User experience improvement for online
users.
2026
PepsiCo
40% 1000%
High data growth volume in PepsiCo core
systems could have had an impact in
performance and stability for the North
America business. Considering that the
program agenda for North America is still
ongoing, this could have also jeopardized the
coming major releases for the rest of the
markets.
▪ Based on the data volume growth projections,
performance requirements and stability,
PepsiCo decided to forge the future and migrate
from 24 to 32 TB.
▪ PepsiCo led the co-innovation with Microsoft and
SAP to develop the new 32TB product for
PepsiCo’s specific needs and drove the
expedited certification process to meet PepsiCo
deployment timelines.
▪ PepsiCo’s financial investment and trust on this
project led to being first in the industry operating
at this capacity.
PepsiCo Tech Strategy & Enterprise
Solutions & Infrastructure and Cloud
Operations teams in partnership with
strategic vendors (SAP, Microsoft, Suse,
Infosys, Cognizant and HCL) led and
materialized a program to scale core
operation systems from 24 to 32TB, setting a
precedent across industry and the first one in
Azure to go productive and to support
enabling North America business future
growth.
