SAP Standard Application Benchmarks

SAP Standard Application Benchmarks help customers and partners find the appropriate hardware configuration for their IT solutions. Working in concert, SAP and our hardware partners developed the SAP Standard Application Benchmarks to test the hardware and database performance of SAP applications and components.

Measuring in aSAPS

advanced SAP Application Performance Standard (aSAPS) is a hardware-independent unit of measurement that describes the performance of a system configuration in the SAP environment. It is derived from the SAP Quote-to-cash Standard Application benchmark (Q2C), where 100 aSAPS is defined as 2,000 fully business processed order line items per hour in combination with the throughput of 2 OLAP queries per hour. SAP Q2C is therefore using an advanced throughput metric which contains OLTP and OLAP to calculate aSAPS.

Using aSAPS for Sizing

If SAP's sizing tools, such as Quick Sizer, Sizing Guidelines or Sizing Report suggests a configuration of 50,000 aSAPS, you can check the SAP Q2C benchmark table for a sample configuration.

By setting the sort order in the aSAPS column you can view the benchmark results that can give you an idea about which configurations are likely to fulfil your requirements.
