Overview
Document Grounding empowers SAP customers to get accurate, trustworthy answers from Joule by securely grounding conversations in their own business documents. Instead of relying solely on generic language model knowledge, Joule uses Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to pull relevant information from unstructured and semi-structured documents stored in SAP and approved third-party repositories. This ensures responses are context-aware, factually correct, and based on the most up-to-date business data. By tracing answers back to their source documents, Document Grounding increases transparency and accountability while enabling more reliable, use-case-specific insights directly within conversational workflows.
