The policy applies toSAP and all its employees worldwide. It defines the intent, expectations, andobligations of employees involved inthe design, development, deployment, and sale of AI systems while alsoacknowledging the role of externalstakeholders in the AI system lifecycle. Each actor involved in any phase of theAI system lifecycle must ensure thatAI systems are designed, developed, sold, and used in accordance with theethical principles outlined in this policyand that these ethical principles aremaintained and followed throughoutthe AI system lifecycle.Adherence to these ethical principlesis especially important so customersand the public can trust SAP’s abilityto develop, deploy, use, and sell AIsystems responsibly and ethically.98Development Lifecycle ChapterSAP AI Ethics Handbook | External
