SAP Revenue Accounting and Reporting

Automate and simplify the revenue recognition and accounting process

Our revenue accounting software is designed specifically to help businesses comply with new statutory regulations for revenue recognition and also has the flexibility to support existing requirements.

Why SAP Revenue Accounting and Reporting?

With SAP Revenue Accounting and Reporting you can:
  • Handle orders, invoices, and events from multiple SAP or non-SAP systems
  • Gain flexibility by decoupling revenue recognition rules from order entry and billing systems
  • Provide revenue accountants with an easy to use accounting solution

Functional Capabilities

Comply with new and existing revenue recognition regulations – and manage the transition

Simplify compliance with our revenue accounting software, built specifically to handle the new converged U.S. GAAP and IFRS revenue standard. With native support for multiple GAAPs, our solution also helps you manage the transition period more easily.

Support many different performance obligation and revenue recognition types

Gain the flexibility you need to support different revenue recognition methods as well as multi-element scenarios. See which operational items are considered by the revenue and accounting engine – and how they are treated.

Natively support multiple GAAP requirements

Natively supports multiple GAAP requirements and multiple ledgers, existing and new regulations, as well as local GAAP–either  through a multi-ledger approach or an account based method.

Keep up with accounting changes on an ongoing basis

Rely on our ongoing monitoring of the accounting standards process as well as interpretation of new regulations. An active participant in the regulatory process, SAP makes it easy to stay on top of new requirements.

Automate and simplify standard revenue recognition processes

Eliminate the need for manual processes and spreadsheets, reduce errors, and shorten audit time – while ensuring compliance. Automate your standard processes so that you can spend more time on complex contracts and specific contract terms.

Technical Capabilities

Designed for massive scalability and flexibility, the solution leverages standard SAP architecture for scalability and takes advantage of parallel processing.

Easily integrate your accounting software with both SAP solutions and non-SAP systems with our adapter framework. The adapter reuse layer (ARL) can take data from operational items and events that are relevant for revenue accounting.  The structure of the data can be configured separately for different operational items and for different operational systems.  The ARL then transforms the data into revenue accounting contracts and performance obligations based on the defined rules.

Define performance obligations and event handling more easily with our established rules based engine (BRF+). With revenue accounting decoupled from the reporting engine, our solution gives you greater flexibility.
