SAP Business Technology Platform helps customers innovate while transitioning to the cloud. The SAP Build solution is now infused with AI to supercharge developer productivity and offers new capabilities that make it easier for developers to create AI agents. SAP Integration Suite offers new, AI-assisted features to predict and analyze API usage trends, streamlining operations and spotting issues before they lead to financial loss.

New AI Capabilities and Enhancements Boost SAP Build

SAP announces significant enhancements to SAP Build, its application development and automation solution that provides developers with a comprehensive suite of low-code, pro-code, and generative AI tools.

Joule Studio in SAP Build Makes It Easier to Create AI Agents

Joule Studio, part of SAP Build, provides a dedicated environment for customers to create, deploy, monitor, and manage custom skills for Joule (available at the end of Q2 2025) and AI agents (available in Q4 2025) with low-code, no-code capabilities. Complementing built-in features in Joules, Joule Studio integrates with both SAP and third-party applications, giving customers the ultimate flexibility to craft business-ready agents.

  • Skill builder capability: Design custom skills that execute predefined tasks within conversations, triggered contextually by user intent. These skills produce specific results, configurable to the customer landscape. Skills can leverage other SAP Build components such as prebuilt automations and custom applications, access to third-party integrations, and AI models.

  • AI agent builder capability: Create custom AI agents that can execute processes and workflows with varying adaptability and self-healing capabilities. Rather than following a set of prescribed instructions, agents leverage the ‘thinking’ aspects of LLMs to figure out how to solve a problem, as well as accessible tools and APIs to augment their solution. Grounded in customers’ business data and SAP Knowledge Graph, these agents can deliver precise outputs and business-centric outcomes, accommodating human inputs throughout the workflow.

New AI Capabilities for Developers

Available in Q3 2025, SAP announces new Joule capabilities for developers in SAP Build. These AI-assisted capabilities help empower developers at any skill level to build applications more quickly and easily:

  • New AI capabilities for SAP Build Work Zone: Employees can work smarter with quick access provided by Joule to relevant apps, tasks, and processes from one central place. Users can further use Joule to query documents using document grounding capabilities, create new documents, and summarize them for relevant information needs. By providing AI responses based on SAP-relevant data from SAP Build Work Zone, employees can save time and stay productive.

  • New ABAP AI capabilities: Whether it's migrating custom SAP ECC code to SAP Cloud ERP to maintain a clean core or adapting existing legacy code to ABAP Cloud model standards, these AI-driven enhancements can help developers be more productive and deliver precise outcomes faster.

Expanded SAP Build Capabilities Help Customers Extend SAP Business Suite

  • Lobby for SAP Build capability: An enhanced lobby for SAP Build serves as the central entry point for developers and business users to readily access, create, and streamline extension projects. The lobby will help simplify development, lifecycle management, and governance across all SAP projects, including ABAP, Java, JavaScript, and low-code-based development. Generally available now.

  • Extensibility wizard in SAP Business Suite: This guided experience helps users jump-start creating extensions for SAP Cloud ERP. Developers can create and deploy applications more simply using the SAP Fiori UX and use application context to quickly develop and deploy UIs. This extensibility wizard will be made available in SAP SuccessFactors solutions in H2 2025, providing a guided experience to create extensions, with features similar to the extensibility wizard in SAP Business Suite. Generally available now.

  • Integration with SAP Business Data Cloud: This integration will enable developers to natively discover SAP Business Data Cloud data products directly within the service center for SAP Build. Real-time visibility into available business data is enabled through up-to-date virtual tables in SAP HANA Cloud. Developers will also be able to leverage SAP Cloud Application Programming Model in SAP Build to create custom applications that integrate with data products and supplement SAP Business Data Cloud Intelligent Applications. This streamlined integration helps accelerate application development and empowers end users with richer data and deeper insights. General availability expected in H2 2025.

  • Event-driven applications and extensions: Developers can build more responsive and scalable solutions with the combined power of SAP Build, the advanced event mesh in SAP Integration Suite, and SAP Cloud Application Programming Model. A wide range of event sources will be supported, allowing streamlined and dynamic interactions across systems. General availability expected in H2 2025.

Simplified Pricing and Packaging

Available now, customers can take advantage of the simplified pricing and packaging in SAP Build to help extend SAP Business Suite. This new pricing and packaging across SAP Business Suite allows developers to choose the right tool for every job—low-code, code-first, or AI—without managing multiple licenses.

SAP Integration Suite Accelerates Productivity with New AI Capabilities and Enhancements

SAP Integration Suite is an integration platform-as-a-service (iPaaS) that helps organizations connect their applications, data, and AI so developers can build automated, end-to-end business processes that unlock business value. SAP is introducing significant enhancements to SAP Integration Suite, including embedded AI capabilities and new feature updates:

  • New user experience for SAP Integration Suite: Developers can utilize AI capabilities within a new UX for SAP Integration Suite supporting more effective development, configuration, migration, testing, and workload monitoring. New capabilities will enhance overall productivity and operational excellence. Generally available now.

  • AI adapter: Customers can leverage a new AI adapter to design more impactful integration workflows with their own LLMs or the LLMs provided by SAP AI Core infrastructure. The ability to connect multiple LLMs across environments gives customers the flexibility to make their integrations of business applications and data even more intelligent. General availability expected Q2 2025.

  • AI-assisted API trends and predictions: Customers can leverage AI-assisted API trends and predictions to analyze historical API call volumes, which forecast trends and provide insights into traffic patterns. By predicting potential anomalies that might result in financial loss, customers can proactively adjust their strategies, improving their resilience and competitive edge. General availability expected Q2 2025.

  • New integration adapters: A new set of integration adapters include IBM MQ, Google Cloud Storage, Google Pub/Sub, Salesforce Pub/Sub, NetSuite, Anaplan, Snowflake, Amazon DynamoDB, AWS Eventbridge, Coupa, HubSpot, Jira, Microsoft Azure Cosmos DB, MS 365 Teams, MS 365, and more. Generally available now.

  • SAP Business Accelerator Hub: The hub provides new prebuilt business accelerators and the ability to quickly search and access AI-specific APIs, events, and integrations. The hub enables customers to monitor API and event usage through AI agents that proactively identify anomalies such as security, performance, and unauthorized access. Generally available now.

SAP HANA Cloud Enhancements Support Customers’ Modernization Efforts

SAP HANA Cloud is a multi-model database with industry-leading performance and capabilities, such as the vector and knowledge graph engines that enable developers to build intelligent applications. SAP announces multiple new capabilities, available Q4 2025, to accelerate customers’ modernization path to SAP HANA Cloud.

  • Customers can leverage self-service technology to selectively migrate SAP HANA database objects to SAP HANA Cloud. This helps accelerate and simplify clean core deployments in the cloud while greatly reducing time to value.

  • SAP HANA Cloud functionality provides users with enhanced monitoring of consumption, cost visibility, and financial governance. This fine-level granularity of insights empowers companies to predict and optimize their IT spending.
