SAP TechEd News Guide 2023

Dear SAP Community,

What an exciting time to be at SAP, a company perfectly placed to ensure that enterprise innovations in the age of AI advance our mission to help the world run better and improve people’s lives. After a fall packed with groundbreaking announcements, from Business AI capabilities in our spend management and human resource management portfolios to the launch of our generative AI copilot Joule, we’re introducing an array of innovations at TechEd 2023 that will continue to transform the way business runs.

Developers are the heart and soul of the AI revolution, and today we’re unveiling SAP Build Code to empower this critical community with generative AI capabilities that enable and elevate innovation, collaboration, and inspiration. Following the release at TechEd 2022 of SAP Build, which unleashed the power of business users, SAP Build Code offers pro-code tools for developers to build applications and extensions rapidly, integrate seamlessly, and collaborate effectively — all on our unified SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP).

The era of AI is, in many ways the era of data – and this is where SAP has long played a dominant role. Hundreds of thousands of customers around the world trust us with their most mission-critical data, and for more than 50 years we’ve earned and built upon that trust. At TechEd today, we’re building on that foundation with offerings including a new vector capability that radically expands the search-and-retrieval potential of intelligent data applications, empowering developers to deliver the deep insights their organizations need to succeed within the bounds of the critical security they require to remain competitive.

For all of generative AI’s incredible promise, people remain every organization’s most valuable asset. SAP is building on its long history of investing in human potential with new commitments to the developer community this year, expanding on the immense popularity of our commitment last year to upskill 2 million developers. As the pace of technological innovation increases, employment opportunities for back-end developers are growing quickly. New certification and learning resources from SAP unveiled at TechEd 2023 aim to ensure developers and aspiring developers alike have the generative AI skills they need to help their organizations run at their best.

Also at TechEd, we’re announcing that SAP has joined the Stanford HAI (Institute for Human-Centered AI) Corporate Affiliate Program, further strengthening our academic collaborations. Researchers and engineers at SAP will work with the Stanford academic community, including research faculty and students, on the intersection of generative AI and business.
