SAP Academy for Business Transformation helped me rediscover my career ambitions and start chasing my goals. From onboarding weeks until the day of graduation it was made sure that we learn, experiment and develop new skills. I think the freedom to join any department, discover and learn about their processes, and grasp as much as possible from the surroundings has helped me a great deal.

Maham Lodhi,
Graduate of the SAP Academy for Business Transformation 2020/21

Briefly describe your journey at SAP so far.

I joined SAP in 2019 as a working student and started with Asset and License management team. I loved the multi-cultural environment, openness of people, and so many unique experiences all around me. I observed that SAP is an employee centric organization where it’s made sure that everyone is treated equally in terms of opportunities and I saw a vast room for growth and career development.

That is why, soon after my graduation, I decided to join SAP full time and I was very fortunate to have learnt about SAP Academy for Business Transformation. I applied for the academy and got selected as a part of cohort 2020/21. I am very proud to say that this was one of the best decisions of my life in terms of shaping my career path. I spent one year with the academy which was full of learning and experiences. I had complete freedom to focus on developing and using my strengthens in order to determine my long-term goals. After graduating from the Academy, I joined the “Experience Engineering and Strategy acceleration” team as a Project Consultant where we pioneer, operate, and evolve solutions with a broader vision. I am profoundly grateful for every moment of the journey along the way and hoping to contribute with SAP in making people’s lives better.

What are you currently doing? How do you describe your role to friends?

I am working as a Project Consultant for the “Experience Engineering and Strategy Acceleration” team and our team is part of Industries and Customer Advisory board area headed by Julia White. We are an engineering organization and bridging the gap between operational processes and delightful digital experiences. We have more than 80,000 external and 20000 internal users of our applications and services. I am supporting the whole team in proactively designing and improving operational processes. A part of my job is to come up with new concepts for project management to steer transparency and knowledge sharing. I am also managing internal and external communications along with supporting my manager with preparation of meetings, talking points and creating reports for the management team. I am working autonomously to break silos between teams in our unit and across SAP. This role provided me a great opportunity to learn cross topic and learn through implementation of my ideas. My current role is enabling me to learn both about technical and business side of SAP. There is a huge scope to grow in this role and shape my long-term goals.

How could the SAP Academy for Business Transformation contribute to opening up this path for you? What tip would you like to share with early talent?

SAP Academy for Business Transformation helped me rediscover my career ambitions and start chasing my goals. From onboarding weeks until the day of graduation it was made sure that we learn, experiment, and develop new skills. I think the freedom to join any department, discover and learn about their processes, and grasp as much as possible from the surroundings has helped me a great deal. I learnt to trust my decisions and go out of my comfort zone which allowed me to establish a broader vision. The PMO team has supported us along our journey, giving us the support, encouragement, and family-like camaraderie that we needed to pursue our dreams. Best of all, I knew that all the hard work is leading me somewhere and it was true.

A tip that I would like to share with early talent is that never feel shy in asking questions and volunteering because the best way to learn is by understanding the problem and doing the best you can. Learn, grasp and absorb all the knowledge around you because this is once in a life-time opportunity.
