The VAT ID Check - Cloud API provides a REST interface which can be used to query the web services of various institutions (BZsT, VIES) to validate VAT ID numbers. In addition, we offer a corresponding client application to seamlessly integrate the validation process into SAP.
Overview
Comply with legal requirements
From 01.01.2020, German companies are obliged to validate the VAT ID number of the purchaser when supplying goods to other European countries. The VAT ID Check - Cloud API provides a convenient HTTP API to perform the required qualified validation.
Avoid exceptional tax payments
The VAT reform is intended to facilitate intra-Community trade in Europe by means of these immediate measures, also known as quick fixes, and to further reduce its susceptibility to fraud. If companies do not meet the obligation to provide proof, they cannot assert their claim for tax exemption.
Streamline business processes
With our optional client application, the process of validation can be fully automated and integrated into SAP. Time-consuming manual validation is therefore no longer necessary.

Validate VAT ID Numbers
VAT ID Check - Cloud-API provides a REST interface to query the web services of different institutions for validating VAT ID numbers in a single HTTP request. The well documented API service runs on the SAP Cloud Platform.
Query multiple services at once
The VAT ID Check - Cloud-API queries the interfaces of various authorities and institutions in the background (e.g. BZSt and VIES). In this way, an aggregated result can be returned to the user. In addition, results can be delivered even if one of the authority interfaces is not accessible.
Update customer master data
In addition to validating the submitted VAT ID number, the VAT ID Check - Cloud-API provides additonal data about the corresponding customer. In detail, the VAT ID number is e.g. enriched by company name, company form and adress (if provided by the respective country).
