Overview
Maximize yield and meet market demand using real data from the sawmill
The saw simulator allows the user to evaluate which log classes and sideboard configurations should be used to create new cutting patterns that maximize yield, based on real log, machine, and price data from the sawmill. With log class optimization, the user can determine how log classes should be divided to maximize yield and meet market demand.
Achieve the highest net profit with optimized budget planning
The solution supports a sales and operations approach to budget planning. A forecast of market demand, raw material sourcing, and machine capacity for the upcoming period (month/quarter) is entered. Using optimization, new scenarios can be evaluated instantly to achieve the highest net profit.
Balance demand and stock with optimized tactical plans for operational execution
Once the tactical plan is decided, it can be released for operational execution. The planner will then have the current optimized plan as guidance when creating production orders to balance demand and stock.

Features
Create and maintain balanced production plans with integrated optimization tools
Utilizing the same model as the tactical feature the planner can create a plan for all process steps. The planner balances stock with demand over time from the AOT view. Planning supports both pushing and pulling production planning. Optimization helps the planner keep the plan up to date.

Compare and execute unbiased production plans
The solution offers sawmill planners a model of production capabilities, financial information (production costs and prices) and raw material supply. Different plans can be compared by results without bias at the push of a button. A plan can then be released for execution in the operational module.

Evaluate new cutting patterns with virtual logs and sawline capabilities
Utilizing statistical data from the mill, a sample of virtual logs is created. The capabilities of the sawline are described, including sawblade width and curve sawing capabilities. With this information, the user can create and evaluate new cutting patterns for both volume and economic yield.
