Inventec: Pioneering a new era of sustainable talent strategy with global payroll transformation
Elevating HR to a strategic business partner
Computer maker Inventec deployed the SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll solution as its global payroll backbone, standardizing payroll policies and streamlining operations. This empowered HR to shift from administrative tasks to strategic initiatives—laying the foundation for long-term talent sustainability and business resilience.

Building a unified global payroll strategy under the “One Inventec” vision
To achieve sustainable business growth, people must come first. Accordingly, as Inventec Corporation approached its 50th anniversary, the company introduced the “One Inventec” vision, reinforcing its commitment to fair, competitive, and transparent compensation practices and work-life balance.
As the group’s footprint steadily expanded across Asia, Europe, and the Americas, each operational site had developed independent payroll systems with inconsistent data formats and no integration. This meant headquarters was unable to access consolidated, critical talent data across locations.
Inventec wanted to unify global payroll operations, enhance data transparency, and improve employee experiences—fueling long-term growth as the group moved into its next 50 years. To achieve this, it sought a solution that would enable real-time updates, compliance with local regulations, and audit traceability.

Deploying a solution that supports strategic HR
Building on its existing foundation of the SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central solution, Inventec selected SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll for its system compatibility. The solution also offered the flexibility of the cloud, real-time data traceability, and scalable capabilities aligned with Inventec’s global expansion plans.
One key advantage involved global compliance and localization. With support for payroll localization in more than 50 countries, SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll helps Inventec stay compliant in rapidly expanding markets such as Thailand and Mexico—enabling quick adaptation to tax and labor law changes. Taking Taiwan as an example, solution localization supported by the globalization team at SAP helps Inventec comply with local HR regulations while optimizing payroll efficiency. The localization features in SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll incorporate Taiwan-specific payroll rules, labor standards, income tax requirements, and regulatory updates. This lets Inventec manage payroll processes smoothly, enabling comprehensive compliance and operational efficiency.
A further consideration was the combination of minimal customization and maximum accuracy. The solution’s rigorous architecture minimizes the need for customization and reduces the risk of human error, meeting HR’s needs with very little custom development.
Data validation and security was a third advantage. Beyond payroll, SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll supports a validation mechanism for upstream HR data such as attendance and personnel records. Role-based access control and comprehensive audit trails help ensure calculations are transparent and more secure—enhancing internal controls.
Enabling operational efficiency and a near-zero error rate
With SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll as the cornerstone of its digital HR transformation, Inventec now completes payroll processing for around 7,000 employees in just 20 minutes, saving over 60 working days per year. Payroll accuracy has improved dramatically, with the error rate reduced to 0.01% thanks to automated attendance integration.
Inventec successfully integrated the solution with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, enabling smooth alignment between payroll and financial processes, with payroll data automatically consolidated into ERP cost centers. This integration has significantly enhanced collaboration between HR and finance, removing the need for manual journal entries by finance and reducing the time HR spends on attendance reconciliation.
What’s more, employees can now use SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll to self-check salary details, attendance records, and historical pay—enhancing transparency and ownership.
Constructing three strategic pillars for Inventec’s next century
To mark its 50th anniversary, Inventec’s HR team has outlined three strategic priorities. The first, employer branding, involves repositioning the employer image with the message: “We make dreams happen. We are inventors.”
The second pillar revolves around skills-based talent development. To facilitate this, Inventec is building a capability-based workforce model aligned with “100% readiness” through clear role definition and competency mapping.
And the third pillar is focused on data-driven, AI-enabled HR. The company plans to use SAP SuccessFactors solutions and AI tools to empower HR with real-time insights, enabling more agile and precise talent decisions.
For Inventec, HR has now become a strategic partner, a driver of digital transformation, and a steward of the employer brand. Through HR, the company brings a human touch to business innovation—fostering a more connected, resilient organization built to thrive for generations to come.
