Endura SpA: Planting the seeds for future-ready growth

Explore Endura’s journey with SAP
For over 50 years, Endura has been a leader in key insecticide components. But its legacy IT infrastructure had limited features and sluggish productivity, which created a barrier to growth and innovation goals. The company needed to modernize to a simplified yet flexible IT infrastructure to support the company’s future evolution – or risk falling behind.

Increasing business demands slowed by a legacy system
Headquartered in Italy, Endura is a top chemical developer, manufacturer, and supplier of active insecticide ingredients. It’s also the leading producer of piperonyl butoxide, or PBO, a common insecticide synergist.
Though business was booming, the company’s IT infrastructure had become a roadblock to its strategic short- and long-term goals. Endura’s operations were run on a decades-old on-premise ERP system. Custom-built by a group of small vendors, the platform relied on a tailored setup and ongoing updates and maintenance.
Integrating new features was a long and sometimes impossible task due to a lack of system standardization. Operations productivity was bogged down by a tangle of complex internal and external processes. Overall, the IT infrastructure wasn’t designed for efficiency, adaptability, or innovation.
Facing these multiple challenges, the company made it a priority to modernize to a centralized ERP technology platform to take on its day-to-day and future requirements.
Planning for a fruitful foundation
Setting its digital transformation in motion, Endura turned to SAP and Avvale as its vendors of choice. The company chose SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition as its next-generation ERP platform, which was widely adopted by other chemical companies. Avvale was selected for its deep SAP consulting and implementation expertise and capability to reengineer the technology landscape from scratch.
Within nine months, Endura transitioned from its legacy and limited system to a modern, cloud-based ERP foundation that unified its IT architecture across the company – with built-in best practices.
Using SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, the company now has full visibility for business processes and operations, built-in compliance and security, automatic upgrades, and many other features to help the business run more efficiently and productively.
More importantly, the solution is future ready with a standardized global model that can easily integrate new features and capabilities that will help the company grow and innovate with confidence.
Enriching Endura’s ability to thrive
Adopting SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition has dramatically improved how the company operates worldwide. The company no longer relies on a team of consultants to build and customize features, fix technical problems, and conduct maintenance activities. With a unified IT infrastructure, all global services are managed from one digital foundation.
Endura has unmatched levels of business process visibility across the company, increasing its employee and team efficiency, accuracy, and collaboration. In the finance group, cash forecast accuracy has been significantly boosted, and in procurement, productivity levels have risen. On the logistics team, its overall costs have gone down.
With an agile, cloud-based system, Endura has also been able to implement business process management practices, balancing today’s and tomorrow’s critical business needs. The company can also expand plant maintenance, analytics, and other new features with plug-and-play integration capabilities.
Cultivating future-forward features
Endura will integrate new SAP solution capabilities in the immediate and long-term future. Continuing its successful collaboration with Avvale, the company plans to integrate plant maintenance management analytics and build in the SAP Analytics Cloud solution for better reporting capabilities.
Endura will continue to build on a robust digital foundation for further growth, standardization, integration, and innovation.
