Brose: Creating a Single Point of Contact for Suppliers to Aid Transparency and Efficiency
May 4, 2023
Automotive supplier Brose co-innovated with SAP and Capgemini Deutschland GmbH to develop an industry cloud solution that helps manage and support the complex inter-relationships and dependencies of a vast global supplier network. The resulting Capgemini Supplier Integration for Automotive application, built on SAP® Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP), integrates with ERP software SAP ERP Central Component (SAP ECC)and can also integrate with the private or public edition of SAP S/4HANA®Cloud. The application is available on the SAP Store site for use in the automotive industry and other industries with complex supply chain environments.
Building the new application on SAP BTP helped Brose minimize both project time and custom software development. And many of the application’s 9,000 users found it so intuitive that they needed only minimal training, speeding up supplier onboarding.
Now, collaboration is improved through one centralized digital world for Brose suppliers. Users can speedily switch between different roles across different legal entities of their company, accessing Brose’s resources using single sign-on. On Brose’s side, this reduces the effort to create and manage individual user accounts. Its teams use the SAP Workflow Management Service to enable intuitive workflow modelling, while the Identity Authentication service provides central access to diverse cloud or on-premise applications.
“This is the first but one of the most important steps on our transformation journey. In the future, digital tasks along the supply chain will be carried out on SAP BTP. The supplier will have a single ‘digital gateway’ to Brose processes.” -- Michael Seifert, Project Manager, Supplier Portal, Brose
