What I love about my job is that one day I am shedding a light on how retailers can lead in the circular economy through sustainable product offerings. The next day, I could be leading an immersive experience showcase on how using RFID and smart mirror solutions can help retailers drive seamless customer engagement across e-commerce.
When asked what her mantra is, Tiffany Monahan says, “what you focus on grows.”
Tiffany is on the ‘Grow by SAP’ team, an exclusive program that helps startups and future market leaders accelerate their business in the most sustainable way as they go through hypergrowth, a phase of rapid expansion companies experience as they scale. This program provides a cloud solution package supported by a dedicated customer success manager to help companies power their tomorrow, today.
When a company moves from a promising startup to hypergrowth, it presents a whirlwind of challenges that need to be identified and addressed. SAP provides digital transformation expertise by helping businesses scale, leverage best practices for audit readiness, and navigate change during uncertain times. Not forgetting the day-to-day operations of delegating, automating, and decentralizing manual, time-consuming tasks.
Helping companies to scale is exciting and challenging. Tiffany and her colleagues at Grow by SAP work side-by-side with our customers to define the scope of what is required today to create a roadmap to support their growth journey.
“Every hypergrowth company has a unique path, and our mission is to help them reach their business objectives,” says Tiffany. “It is about creating long-term partnerships and leveraging our ecosystem to find potential synergies with our customers.” She adds, “I have always loved fashion, so I work often with the retail and commerce colleagues at ‘SAP.’ Through it, I learned about the ‘Runway of Dreams’ foundation which is a non-profit organization that works towards the future of inclusion, acceptance and opportunity in the fashion industry for people with disabilities.”
The non-profit is founded on the basis that clothing is a basic human need. The foundation develops, delivers and supports programs and events that celebrate people’s differences with the aims of breaking down stereotypes, highlighting the need for mainstream adaptive apparel and showcasing people with disabilities in fashion.
“I was inspired by founder Mindy Scheier, a fashion designer and mother of a child with a disability. She envisioned a world where adaptive clothing for people with disabilities is mainstream. Mindy lives the mission of raising awareness, advocating for change, supporting innovation, and providing access to functional apparel for those in need,” Tiffany says.
Runway of Dreams has an app called Runway by SAP, a machine learning-powered app used to identify an item of clothing. Users can “love” the item, add it to their wish list, buy it, and more.
“What I love about my job is that one day I am shedding a light on how retailers can lead in the circular economy through sustainable product offerings. The next day, I could be leading an immersive experience showcase on how using RFID and smart mirror solutions can help retailers drive seamless customer engagement across e-commerce. On another day, I am working with SAP’s Business Women’s Network to launch a Runway of Dreams fashion design challenge. It is pretty incredible,” says Tiffany.
While working on Runway of Dreams, Tiffany met SAP colleague Ivan Reyes, a full stack developer at SAP Digital Factory focused on innovation. “Like many colleagues, Ivan is passionate about emerging technologies. I am empowered at SAP because I work with fabulous people like Ivan who are smart, thoughtful and have a unique point of view,” she shares.
Runway by SAP is a fashion showcase experience extension that can be used by designers at fashion weeks and shows across the world, such as New York Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week and London Fashion Week. The app allows a person to take photos and videos of models walking the runway with image recognition that provide more information on what they are wearing.
“The backend SAP Cloud Platform development was done by the brilliant Ivan Reyes and it was brought to life because of his expertise and creativity,” says Tiffany. “I feel really fortunate to work with Ivan on this. It is partnership and collaboration that makes SAP a great place to work.”
