Analytical insights in Joule
The Joule AI copilot gains new analytical insights capabilities. Powered by generative AI and the just ask feature in SAP Analytics Cloud, Joule now provides real-time analytical insights directly within hosting SAP applications such as SAP S/4HANA and SAP SuccessFactors.
Users ask questions in natural language to query SAP Analytics Cloud acquired models or SAP Datasphere models in a SAP Business Data Cloud formation. They receive immediate visual responses, while Joule adheres to SAP's access controls and only provides data and insights that users are authorized to view. Ultimately, analytical insights in Joule allow all employees to make informed decisions regardless of data and analytics skills.
Smart insights
When you look at a chart or table, there's always more to understand about what's going on in the data. The smart insight feature uses statistical analysis to automatically generate textual insights combined with a visualization to better help understand the data beyond what is readily visible at first glance. This feature has been popular with SAP Analytics Cloud users, and it is now available from a chart data point in the optimized story experience, further bridging the gap with the classic experience.
In addition, from now on, the smart insights feature is no longer limited to working with acquired data, or live SAP HANA connections, it can also reveal insights when working with SAP Analytics Cloud stories based on SAP Datasphere and seamless planning models.
Data analyzer insights
The data analyzer feature in SAP Analytics Cloud enables ad-hoc analyses of live SAP BW queries and SAP HANA views, or SAP Analytics Cloud and SAP Datasphere models. Users can also save data analysis and exploration states as new insights. When the data analyzer feature is enabled in view mode, SAP Analytics Cloud story viewers can now also save and pin data analyzer insights to a chart or a table visualization widget for quick access.
Users can pin as many insights as they need, there is no limit to the number of insights pinned to a visualization. All pinned insights are accessible through the context menu for the data analyzer feature. Saving and pinning insights is supported only in the full viewer of the optimized story experience.
Data import
SAP Analytics Cloud now allows data modelers to combine data from multiple data sources in a single import job when creating new models. A new streamlined and intuitive user experience simplifies and accelerates the creation of comprehensive data models that require joining multiple data sources to provide a complete view of the business.
This innovation is available when creating models of the new model type, with data frames manipulated via data wrangling expressions similar to R or Python Pandas libraries.
PaPM step in multi actions
The multi actions feature in SAP Analytics Cloud allows planning professionals to orchestrate operations across models and versions, linking together steps like data actions to save time and streamline processes. A new step type now enables them to integrate with SAP Profitability and Performance Management (PaPM). They can enrich planning workflows in SAP Analytics Cloud in processing advanced profitability and allocation calculations in PaPM.
PaPM knowledge is all what is needed to configure a PaPM step in a multi action. Once a PaPM step is added to the multi action, more planning steps can be added and reordered as required. This flexibility allows planning professionals to design comprehensive workflows that leverage the full capabilities of SAP Analytics Cloud and SAP Profitability and Performance Management.
