A generic flat IDoc adapter for SAP Integration Suite
The IDoc exchange between SAP ERP and 3rd party system in flat file format is provided in former middleware solutions (e.g. SAP PI/PO or SAP Business Connector). But the current SAP Integration Suite IDoc adapter does not support this format. For a migration to SAP Integration Suite, this format is still needed. Our solution adapter closes this gap.

Improve the IDoc adapter of the SAP Integration Suite
Our solution extends the functionality of the existing IDoc adapter of the SAP Integration Suite. Deployed as an integration adapter, IDocs can be processed and converted into xml and in addition into flat file format.
Reduce costs for a migration scenario to SAP Integration Suite
With the use of the adapter, it is not absolutely necessary to adapt interfaces that are based on the IDoc flat file format. Interfaces to partners continue to work stably, errors on the partner side can thus be prevented. This reduces the costs of a migration and lowers the risk in later operation.
Reduce communication between business partners
When migrating to the SAP Integration Suite, interfaces based on the IDoc Flat File Format do not necessarily have to be adapted. This minimizes the migration and testing effort on the one hand and on the other hand the ommunication effort with partners who still want to use this format. Of course, this also eliminates development effort on the partner side.

Send IDoc in direct mode
Processing is done via the SOAP protocol. SAP standards are used. The conversion into the IDoc Flat File Format is then done with the adapter. This means that there are no breaks in communication and processing is faster. This works for inbound and outbound processing.
Keep the core clean with own framework
The conversion into the flat file format or from flat file format into another format will be done within an own framework. This can be easily implemented in the backend system and will keep the core clean.
