Continuous Learning Framework

Follow this training blueprint for success with your next software deployment.

The impact of training and enablement

Find out how SAP is planning to bridge the digital skills gap by positioning a modern learning approach.

Get your teams up to speed on time and on budget with SAP Training and Adoption

Based on many years of experience with global software deployments, the SAP Education organisation has developed a continuous learning framework with clearly-defined steps and training activities.

Discover our step-by-step training blueprint

Our five-step framework is oriented toward new implementations. For existing applications, it provides guidance on training new users and expanding skill sets, as well as pinpointing knowledge gaps and developing content to resolve them.

Step one: prepare project teams and key users for SAP solutions

Train the teams who will set up, manage, and support the new platform and teach others how to use it. Early on in the project, you must also identify, engage with, and train key technical and business-side users who will help define system configuration, business process and workflow design, and the layout of individual screens.

  • Make teams ready to manage and support software
  • Enable business users to contribute to planning

Suggested training tools and resources:

Step two: empower your people for change with SAP Education

Educate users about why the new platform is needed, adjustments it will require, implications for their roles, advantages for the business, and the benefits for them personally. On the technical side, applying data analytics to the system slated for replacement helps you discover usage patterns, challenges, and inefficiencies.

  • Foster staff enthusiasm about the transformation
  • Gain insights to fine-tune your system design

Suggested training tools and resources:

Step three: adopt and train end-users

Equip end-users with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed with the new platform. You should create a learning plan for each area of expertise, specifying essential courses, training methods to be employed, customised content and tutorials to be produced, and completion timelines for the various phases.

  • Help end-users use the software effectively
  • Establish a foundation for continuous learning

Suggested training tools and resources:

Step four: measure progress and remediate problems

Collect and analyse real-time software interaction data from users’ desktops and mobile devices. This enables you to measure adoption rates, pinpoint problems, determine root causes, and guide content authors in creating additional, targeted training to optimise user performance.

  • Develop remedial training for problem areas
  • Help end-users use the system more productively

Suggested training tools and resources:

Step five: sustain adoption and optimise performance

Apply your training framework across the business and extend learning beyond the boundaries of your organisation. You should continue to track performance, monitor adoption levels, and make sure people take advantage of the full range of learning resources while modifying training content to keep pace with software updates.

  • Sustain high user adoption and performance
  • Help staff adapt quickly to technology changes
