It’s past time to recognize integration as a
strategic enabler of innovation and growth.
Many IT leaders may not yet understand
how modern integration platforms help
simplify architectures, reduce technical
debt, and accelerate transformation. Shifting
this mindset is key to realizing the full value
of digital transformation efforts and building
a more agile, innovation-ready enterprise.

Assessing the current state of integration
The reality of complex IT landscapes
Without the right tools and governance, most
organizations continue to grapple with
disconnected data, siloed applications, and
inconsistent integration methods.
Adopting hybrid and multi-cloud environments is
key to realizing the full value of the cloud, which
offers greater flexibility and workload
optimization. But this evolution also brings
integration challenges. Fragmented systems,
manual processes, and limited resources make it
harder for IT teams to scale, respond quickly, and
support digital transformation. A modern
integration strategy helps improve efficiency,
innovation, and customer experiences.
Modern integration is not limited to SAP
environments. Navigating complex IT landscapes
requires real-time data sharing, cross-system
automation, and platform-agnostic interoperability.
SAP worked with ASUG to evaluate integration processes and perceptions of SAP
integration solutions and applications at organizations. In this research study, most
(93%) respondents are currently involved in integration projects, and 52% say
they have a formal integration strategy in place. These numbers highlight how
central integration has become to enterprise success.
