The parental leave periods are calculated behind the scenes and displayed to the HR Administrative based on the date-input. When the periods has been confirmed by the HR Administrative the periods are registered as Time Off records in SuccessFactors by the EP Parental Leave Calculator.

To calculate the parental leave an employee is eligible for requires specialized knowledge about regulation and company policy. EP Parental Leave Calculator performs this process behind the scenes using calculation rules defined by EP, hence the need for specialized knowledge is not required.
Update Parental Leave records easily
The birth of a child in an employee's family requires updating of parental leave records. This can be a time-consuming task for HR administrators. HR administrators are allowed to update the previously registered parental leave using only the date of birth, resulting in the time used for updating parental leave being reduced to seconds.

Automated calculations
Using the date of anticipated birth provided by the HR administrator, the date range for each parental leave record is calculated based on defined calculation rules. The date ranges are displayed to the HR administrator, who can edit them if needed.
Checks for eligibility automatically
Based on the employees' seniority date, eligibility for parental leave is checked for seniority employees. Based on this check a specific set of calculation rules is used. If the HR administrator wishes to overwrite this check, it is possible in the UI.
Update Parental Leave Records with one Click
When the actual date of birth is known, updating the parental leave records is often required. The HR Administrator can update up to 8 parental leave records with one click, which is possible since the the system performs these operations behind the scenes.
