Headquartered in South Korea, Zinus is a rapidly growing name in the mattress and furniture sector. Since its founding in 1979, the company has gained international recognition for an e-commerce experience that provides customers with in-home comforts faster than the competition.

 

Today, Zinus has set its focus on global expansion. To be successful, the brand needed to replace its spreadsheet-based planning processes with an integrated system that supports automated statistical forecasts and real-time simulations.

The Solution

Increasing forecast accuracy and customer service through integration

Zinus chose SAP Integrated Business Planning applications for Supply Chain (SAP IBP) to improve the resilience of its supply chain operations and support its future growth plans. The timing of this decision couldn’t have been better ‒ the applications delivered the capabilities necessary to overcome significant disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

The implementation project established integrated business processes for global demand management, supply chain planning, and sales and operations planning (S&OP). To support demand planning, Zinus also implemented the SAP Integrated Business Planning application for demand. The company applied deployment best practices gained through a starter kit for SAP IBP from partner Camelot Innovative Technologies Lab.

 

Zinus also adopted individual S&OP modules, including a native integration with SAP S/4HANA. Through the SAP Smart Data Integration service, it transferred and transformed data between SAP S/4HANA and SAP IBP for improved enterprise-wide planning.

The Result

Operating with a single source of truth

Zinus is now taking advantage of cross-departmental collaboration, thanks to its integrated platform for supply chain planning. As a result, employees can make better decisions by using real-time insights gained through a single source of truth.

 

The company improved its S&OP process across the organization, which harmonized planning and execution. By using forecast algorithms to better predict and prepare for demand, supply chain planners benefit from improved forecast accuracy, optimized planning outcomes, and increased customer satisfaction.

 

Planners are further empowered by powerful supply chain analytics, increased visibility, and what-if simulations to support informed decision-making across the supply chain. Plus, they can identify and handle exceptions faster through automated alerts.
