I have one the best jobs at SAP – to help customers realize the most value for their business from their SAP investment, to enable partners, and internal SAP colleagues to help their customers achieve the same.
Originally from India, I moved to the United States in 1991 for my graduate studies in Industrial Engineering and have lived in Chicago for the last 20 years. I have been with SAP for 17 years!
I am currently part of a global team, with responsibility for North America – United States, and Canada. My work is mostly remote, involves periodic domestic, and international travel, with visits to the local SAP offices to engage with regional teams. A typical work-day starts early, to engage with colleagues in Europe, sometimes finishes late to support customers on the West coast.
My role involves engaging with customers through data-driven insights to help them understand the potential for innovation in their SAP-run business processes, and how to best leverage the various offerings from SAP – solutions, services, and support – to improve outcomes for their business, and maximize value from their SAP investment. I also speak at America’s SAP User Group (ASUG) events, and regional events to evangelize Business Process Intelligence (BPI) to customers, partners, and internal colleagues in various roles. BPI is integral to SAP’s strategy of being our customers’ innovative and trusted partner and supporting them in reinventing their business and become an intelligent enterprise. Understanding how our customers run their business processes and helping them to make improvements is essential to this goal. To help drive fast adoption in North America, I need to quickly translate success from my initial customer engagements to messages that resonate.
I have held many roles in my 17 years with SAP and have had some great leaders. I am very grateful to Lise Tcheng, former Head of Global Industry Services, for a fellowship opportunity in 2012 to evangelize SAP HANA and develop use cases for the Travel & Transportation industry. I am also very grateful for the ongoing mentorship under Sam Fursey, former Head of NA Maintenance Go-To Market, now with the Chief Operating Office for CE&X. My current manager Wassilios Lolas continues to be a great inspiration to build bridges with a strong focus on innovation for customer success. These experiences helped shape my career via a relentless focus on customer success through maximizing value for their business from their SAP investments. Staying curious by building bridges and embracing differences is inherent within teams, and across teams at SAP – this is why I appreciate the SAP culture. The work life balance also lets me enjoy time and travel with my family, taking care of our puppy, tending to a small urban garden, and reading as much as possible.
