Deploying a full HCM system across 11 countries in just one year
Optimizely reviewed a number of HR technologies and decided on SAP SuccessFactors HCM.
Not only did members of its HR team have previous experience with the software, but the ability to deploy all solutions together was also a major bonus. Intuitive tools and a positive user experience were also key, as were ease of data processing across multiple systems and the ability to scale with growth.
Working with Renew HR, Optimizely was up and running across 11 countries in just one year. It implemented the SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central, SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting, SAP SuccessFactors Compensation, SAP SuccessFactors Performance & Goals, and SAP SuccessFactors Succession & Development solutions and the SAP SuccessFactors Talent Management package.
Most recently, it went live with the SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding solution, adding functionality for mentoring and 360-degree employee reviews.
Optimizely also deployed the SAP Employee Engagement solution by Qualtrics to gauge the employee experience throughout onboarding and offboarding processes.

The HR team at Optimizely is making the most of its new talent management system.
Apart from one add-on for recruiting, SAP SuccessFactors solutions have the functionality the company needs. This includes detailed reporting and analytics, which allow managers to create story reports on individual employees and across their team. These, in turn, help determine overall performance and outcomes as they relate to important factors like time management and employee wellness.
Hiring can now be done at scale, with the capacity to hire more than 75 new employees per month. And global alignment with centralized reporting means processes can be standardized and streamlined. For example, automated self-service headcount requests improve visibility for managers and employees and allow HR teams to focus on strategic priorities.
Performance reviews take the form of “success conversations,” through which employees and managers can provide questions that help document performance in an interactive and continuous way. And talent reviews can be calibrated according to a nine-box system, allowing the HR team to track employee potential and start succession planning early.
