rail-sector warehouse transformation
run smoothly and on time?
One of the world’s leading mobility and logistics companies, Deutsche Bahn AG (DB) wants to shift
more traffic to rail by designing and operating sustainable, future-fit transport networks. Within the
group, nearly 9,000 maintenance employees at DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung GmbH use their in-depth
expertise to help keep DB’s rail vehicles and components in top form.
The warehouse management software DB uses for logistical processes runs on the company’s ERP
system, which will soon be upgraded to SAP S/4HANA. To prepare for this, DB needed to roll out a
new software template to warehouses across Germany without disrupting ongoing operations. In
doing so, it wanted to embrace both best practices and a clean core approach. The company sought
expert help to launch this template across diverse locations while keeping multiple teams on board.
