Andrey's story

At SAP, we build breakthroughs, together.

The culture here means that everyone’s experience is important and different views and opinions are embraced as diversity of thought produces the best solutions.

Andrey Kaplan

Andrey Kaplan started his SAP career when the company he was working at, Gigya, was acquired by SAP. He is now a Senior Software Engineer for the SAP Customer Experience organisation.

I was born in the Ukraine and at the age of 18 moved to Israel. I now live 40 minutes from the office in Israel with my wife and two children.

I joined the SAP family in 2017 when Gigya was acquired by SAP. I worked on Customer Data Cloud for Gigya and continue to do so now, but under the SAP brand, and our product is part of Customer Experience (CX).

In my role, I am responsible for central services in the system that manages the data of customers and knows to identify them. My role includes end-to-end support, development, testing and release of services and involvement in design review of technical features in our team. The main challenges in this area is working with multi-client high-load systems in real-time. Our project manages multiple global customers including well-known consumer brands.

What I love about working in this area is that we have an interesting business with multiple features on the roadmap and very professional development team. The work environment is very cool and dynamic, and all people are always ready to help and assist. The culture here means that everyone’s experience is important and different views and opinions are embraced as diversity of thought produces the best solutions.

For me, my personal success is a big part of project success. You are growing together within project and gaining new skills and knowledge in the process. Through knowledge sharing, learning new technologies and seeing your project succeed you get positive feedback for yourself and your team.

As a child my dream was to be an ice cream seller. Now, thanks to the work-life balance that SAP encourages, I am able to pursue a Master’s degree in computer science. I am very interested in the domain of image recognition and deep learning algorithms. Outside of work I like to travel with family and discover new places.
