migration effort. In the long term, this sets the foundation
for a "nearly automated migration fabric" where
intelligent agents continuously analyze legacy estates
and autonomously design, configure, and execute
transitions with minimal human effort.
Which deployment models and transformation
scenarios do these Assistants support?
The initial release is focused on supporting
transformations from SAP ECC to SAP Cloud ERP
Private via the RISE with SAP Methodology. This is
where customers face the highest complexity regarding
customizations, historical data, and unique processes,
making it the area where AI support delivers the highest
immediate value.
Are the Migration and Modernization Assistants
available only for SAP Cloud ERP Private
transformations?
SAP existing customers transitioning from complex
legacy systems to SAP Cloud ERP Private are
prioritized, while Public Cloud adoption is often utilized
for highly standardized processes or subsidiaries. The
migration and modernization assistants target the most
complex transformation bottlenecks first, though
capabilities will expand to broader deployment models in
the future.
Do these AI tools replace the need for
implementation partners and SAP consultants?
No. These assistants are designed to augment expert
work, not replace it. By automating repetitive, time-
consuming activities (like data cleansing, initial code
analysis, and test case generation), the assistants free
up SAP experts, customer teams, and partners to focus
on high-value strategic decisions, complex architectural
design, and business process innovation.

Assistant acts as the foundational engine, continuously
assembling a trusted, customer-specific knowledge
backbone.
This up-to-date system's intelligence is continuously fed
into all other assistants, ensuring that configuration
decisions, data cleansing, and test case generation are
all perfectly aligned and context-aware driven.
What is the foundational technology or platform for
these Assistants?
Most of the AI-based migration solutions are built
natively on SAP Cloud ALM, which serves as the core
lifecycle foundation running on the SAP Business
Technology Platform (BTP). This architecture allows the
assistants to securely access SAP system data, external
Knowledge Graphs, and partner integrations (like
Tricentis or Signavio).
Cloud ALM, Joule for Consultants, and Joule for
Developers are required for the assistants. All other
elements of the Agent-led toolchain will be used by
customers to complement the work of the migration and
modernization scope.
