absence of proper training information.
The impact is now reduced to negligible due to
seamless data exchange between SAP BTP and
SAP ERP Central Component (SAP ECC)
systems

travel effortlessly and without the worry of
getting rejected
The approval productivity increased due to
right information being passed from SAP
BTP to ESS Travel workflows.

Post-migration of legacy training and events
management to SAP SuccessFactors Learning, the on-
premise travel approvals were getting impacted due to
lack of a robust linkage between the two processes.
Two major challenges:
1. To establish a seamless data exchange & bring the
learning data from SAP HANA service for SAP BTP
onto to the employee self-service (ESS) travel
workflow.
2. Auto-approval of travel workflows based on SAP
Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) workflow
approvals.
Learning data is added onto the SAP HANA service for
SAP BTP workflow and SAP Cloud Integration for data
services (SAP CPI) integration flow.
The current solution is to expose the learning data from
SAP HANA as an XSOdata API service and consume it
from the ERP system in to link with ESS travel
workflows.
Once we migrate to SAP BTP, Cloud Foundry
environment, the future roadmap is to innovate the above
data replication process using SAP Datasphere and to
replace the XSOdata service with CAP-M OData
services.
The first outcome of this project is that the travel
workflow can now display more granular details that
helps in avoiding mass rejections that were earlier
prevalent due to absence of learning data.
The second outcome is the auto-approval of travel
workflow for certain steps who have already approved
the SAP BTP workflow thus resulting in process
automation.
Further automations using SAP Build Process
Automation are in vision based on our SAP BTP
adoption maturity to next level.
