As a leading supplier of automotive seats and interiors, Martur Fompak International (MFI)
aims to reshape mobility with responsible solutions. The company is dedicated to reducing
carbon emissions across production processes in 30 locations and seven countries. For
example, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, it generates electricity from renewable and
solar energy resources in production plants.
MFI also wants to increase its use of organic and recycled materials, including in the seating
fabrics it offers. It needed to accurately measure and report on the carbon footprint of
these fabrics while showing customers the environmental implications of product choices
in real time. This would not only aid sustainable decision-making but also set a new
benchmark for the automotive industry.

Martur Fompak International (MFI) wanted to give both internal teams and OEM
customers a real-time view of the carbon impacts of different seating fabrics.
To achieve this, the company integrated SAP software including the RISE with SAP
and SAP Sustainability Footprint Management solutions and the SAP Manufacturing
Integration and Intelligence and SAP Manufacturing Execution applications. It also
took advantage of software such as SAP AI Core infrastructure and SAP AI
Launchpad, as well as the low-code/no-code functionality of the SAP Build Apps
development environment.
The resulting mobile app intelligently suggests seating-fabric choices from a vast
selection of options based on a reference photo uploaded by the user, letting
them appraise their carbon footprint impact before making a choice. Connecting
SAP solutions has helped MFI reduce carbon emissions per seat, improve data
accuracy, and enhance customer experiences with sustainable and transparent
choices.
