At Komplett we have a strong culture driven by tech enthusiasts and we pride ourselves with the saying “we are our customers”. We
have historically developed from being an organization of gamers and product experts to an organization who seeks to be a
discussion partner for customers seeking great advice and to meet customers in the channels they are active in.
We have in the previous years professionalized our organization by adding specialist functions. We believe this, combined with the
focus on "we are our customers", is an important factor in order to strengthen our competitiveness. We also place high emphasis on
employee satisfaction and talent development, in order to maintain Komplett as an attractive and preferred workplace.
Vision: Our vision, “the obvious choice”, provides guidance and energy. Each and every day, we strive to be the “the obvious choice”
for customers, suppliers, employees and society.
Mission: To develop complete solutions that make life easier.
Values: Our values are fundamental to our corporate culture. Our values tell us how to work, how to treat each other and, not least,
how we are perceived by the world around us.
Precision: Keep our promises, meet deadlines, keep up, be clear and accurate. Have respect for and confidence in each other.
Simplicity: Think smart, find simple solutions. Make life easier for our customers and ourselves.
Enthusiasm: Get involved and wish each other well. Create enthusiasm and get pleasure from your work.

Since implementing SAP R/3 in 2005 and using it as
an innovation platform, the core was too customized
and comprised of too much bespoke data and
custom solutions. As the world of e-commerce
changes rapidly, the platform supporting Komplett
needed to be both stable and fast, as well as able to
host and handle new innovations swiftly.
The challenge was to build the future it-platform
based on Gartner’s pace layer architecture to handle
the group for the decades to come. A set of strict
architecture principles were drawn up before
choosing the way forward.
Implement a new greenfield S/4HANA solution for
the whole group with a strict fit-to-standard
approach.
• Embedded EWM & TM with Autostore integration
• All innovations (re-)created in either BTP or Azure
• All integrations between S/4HANA and e-com
platform built as event driven with Event Mesh
and Integration Suite
• Composable and decoupled architecture between
S/4HANA and all surrounding systems making
every solution cloud native, stable and
independent
• All business functions and requirement were
fulfilled but moved to standard S/4 processes
without the need for user exits or enhancements
• Simplified user experience with the move from
SAP GUI to Fiori launchpad for all employees
• Improved visibility across all functions
• Stable, trustworthy and efficient core
• Modernized integrations and less point-to-point by
moving existing integrations from PI to Integration
Suite
• Unified and increased master data quality across
all entities

Pearl Group AS
We successfully transformed Komplett’s system to deliver an enhanced user experience,
streamlined delivery processes, increased sustainability, and fostered innovation, all while
ensuring stability and scalability. The architecture adheres to the pace-layered approach
recommended by Gartner, incorporating systems of record, differentiation, and innovation.
On the S/4HANA side, we rigorously followed a fit-to-standard approach, achieving a
greenfield implementation on RISE with embedded EWM and TM. Seamless integration with
AutoStore and conveyor belts was achieved, and SAP Build Workzone on BTP will soon
facilitate mobile enablement through a Fiori launchpad for the users.
Our commitment to standard processes and the adoption of new features resulted in a
remarkable 63% reduction in custom code and an impressive 99% reduction in user exits
and BAdIs compared to their previous ECC system. Additionally, third-party integrations were
successfully migrated from PI to Cloud Integration on SAP BTP, optimizing efficiency.
Innovation took center stage with the development of a sophisticated service platform on
Azure, supported by BTP. Positioned as an innovation layer between all web stores and
S/4HANA, the platform leverages a true event-driven architecture, further enhancing system
responsiveness and enabling real time updates.

GLOBAL CHALLENGES BUSINESS CHALLENGES
Challenges and Objectives 1 of 2
© 2023 SAP SE or an SAP affiliate company. All rights reserved | PUBLIC 6
Customers visiting a retailer, in any channel has increasing
demands for information, customer service and expects all
processes to work seamlessly. They expect an omni-channel
experience and the threshold for choosing a competitor decreases
fast when the experience is not at a 100%.
They want to be able to start an order on one device and complete
it on another. They expect the customer service representative to
have a 360 degrees overview of all their products and history and
when they buy something, they expect the products to be in-stock,
shipped immediately with the logistics supplier of their choosing.
During shipment updates should be provided at regular intervals
and if by any chance a product is not according to expectations, a
seamless return and refund process should be in place.
For Komplett the biggest challenge was to build new innovative
solutions on a bespoke platform with too much technical debt. They
wanted the customers online to have as much freedom of choice as
possible and use the capabilities of the S/4 processes to fulfill the
customers requirements. Some of the biggest challenges given to
the partner was;
• How can Komplett ensure a fair allocation of products that are
low in supply but high in demand. They wanted a transparent
stock allocation and being able to keep their promise when a
customer adds a product to cart
• With so many different process flows and different customer
options, how can we keep the customer updated with
information throughout the order experience, reaching from
entering the site to the point where the products are delivered
