Walgreens leveraged SAP solutions to design and develop a custom SAP Goods Receipt (GR) and Invoice Receipt (IR) clearing tool based on the standard version of SAP MR11, which is a T-code that is used to automatically create a logistics document to correct postings to the GR/IR.This deployment was one of the largest SAP implementations in the world and required Walgreens to adopt and accept significant new disciplines across multiple retail channels.As a result, SAP and Walgreens EFS co-developed the multi-dimensional, rule based enhancements necessary to categorize and filter components of GR/IR balances and modify MR11 functionality to perform the correct accounting treatment on these categorized items. Once these enhancements were incorporated in production, Walgreens gained the ability to make mass changes without subsequent manual intervention.
