Enabling recycling process in any manufacturing cycle is a complex process and collating the data related to recycling is a challenge which causes many hindrances. Moreover, limited visualization on the recycling data model, and their benefits limits the applicability of recycling practices. To support the same, Capgemini is visualizing four critical KPIs to help the industries: Recycled Content visibility, Recycled Components Tracking, Waste Recycling, and Recycling Benefit analyzer.The standard process integration with SAP S/4 HANA enables to provide overview of recycling adoption at plant, and material level. It provides traceability of recycled components used by reading corresponding procurement data. It is also capable of tracking waste diverted from landfill by measuring the aluminum scrap recycled and reused in production. It further calculates cost benefits by comparing purchasing costs of virgin aluminum vs utilizing in-house recycled aluminum. The same principal design can be applied to any manufacturing industry which uses SAP production order cycle for their operations.
