Jumbo Supermarkten is committed to providing sustainable, healthy, and fun supermarket experiences. To further their sustainability goals, they have partnered with SAP on a new prediction tool (UDF) based on machine learning, to better forecast individual store inventory levels every day. Jumbo has extended this tool with the Production Advice List (PAL) in order to forecast the hourly customer demand of fresh products made instore. PAL is being rolled out to hundreds of stores. It has resulted in a reduction of food waste, happier employees and customers.
