1 Where Can This Script Be Used?
This demo script has been written for usage with the SAP S/4HANA 2020 SP00 Fully-Activated Appliance (in short
“appliance” in this script), hence you will need such an appliance to make use of this guide.
The appliance can be brought up in two ways, and the demo scenario in this script is largely the same for both:
1. Via SAP Cloud Appliance Library (hosted on cloud providers)
You need a cloud provider account at AWS, MS Azure, or GCP. With this, you can deploy the appliance within 1-2
hours from https://cal.sap.com > Solutions > SAP S/4HANA 2020 SP00 Fully-Activated Appliance.
2. Via installing it on your own on-premise hardware.
You need to provide your own hardware, and order & install the appliance as explained in SAP Note 2041140.

2 BEFORE YOU START
Logon Data and Important Notes:
The data migration demos for the S/4HANA Fully-Activated trial system begin by accessing the appliance using the
Windows Remote Desktop option provided with the S/4HANA Fully-Activated Trial System.
For information on how to do this, see slides 21-23 on the step-by-step Quick Start Guide which you can download here:
https://www.sap.com/cmp/oth/crm-s4hana/s4hana-on-premise-trial.html.
Login to the Windows Remote Desktop as an ‘Administrator‘, using the master password you or your company’s
system administrator used when first deploying the Appliance from SAP CAL.
For this exercise, use the following information to logon to the S/4HANA target system:
Client: 100
User: S4H_MG
Password: Welcome1
Used cost center:
For this exercise, use the cost center KS0101 to add an additional language. If you face any issues, you can also use cost
center KS0201 or KS0301.
Microsoft Excel:
The Remote Desktop does not contain Microsoft Excel. As we need to fill in the CostCenterText_own.xml file with data,
we need to use Excel from our local computer. You will be guided in the exercise, when this is needed.
SAP Gui Settings:

designed to easily integrate customer specific enhancements or customer objects. You can access the SAP S/4HANA
migration object modeler by using transaction LTMOM.
In the following exercises, you will learn how to create your own migration object in the migration object modeler, that can
be used for the migration approach “Migrate Data Using Staging Tables”. You will create an object to upload cost center
texts for an already migrated/existing cost center.
Exercise Description
You will be guided through the following steps:
• Check the cost center text
• Create a migration project in the Fiori App “Migrate your Data”
• Create your own migration object and assign a function module
• Maintain the source structure information
• Map the source structure to the target structure
• Map the source structure fields to the target structure fields
• Download the migration template for your own object and prepare test data
• Upload the migration template data
• Maintain and confirm value mapping and execute the data load
• Check uploaded data in the SAP S/4HANA target system
3.1 Check Cost Center Text in the SAP S/4HANA target system
In this process step, you check the cost center text for an already created cost center.
What to Do What You Will See
1. Go to your CAL instance and
connect to system S4H.
Choose RDP. Click Connect.
This opens a Remote desktop
connection. Go to the welcome
page and click the link which
opens FIORI.
