Once insights have been gathered from the user research phase, the project team should collaboratively translate the findings into an initial design concept.

Low-Fidelity Mock-Up

Rather than starting directly with the implementation in SAP Analytics Cloud, it is recommended to start with a low-fidelity (low-fi) mock-up first.

A low-fidelity mock-up is a simplified representation of, in the analytical case a dashboard, that focuses on its simplified structure and content rather than on visual details.
The goal is to communicate concepts clearly and quickly without spending effort on colors, styling, or advanced design elements.

High-Fidelity Mock-Ups

Mock-up creation is an iterative process that involves continuously validating concepts, decisions, and feedback with the end users involved. As the design evolves, low-fidelity mock-ups should be progressively refined into high-fidelity (hi-fi) mock-ups to better represent the final application and enable more detailed feedback.

A high-fidelity mock-up builds on the approved structure, business questions to be answered, visualizations and information hierarchy by adding visual and interaction details that closely resemble the final solution.
Using the Hi-Fi Figma UI Kit for dashboards, prototypes can be enhanced step by step throughout the design process, allowing ideas to be validated before implementation.
After the final validation cycle with both users and the project team, the approved high-fidelity mock-up can serve as the foundation for implementation in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).

Mock-up Screen Size

To be consistent with other design teams at SAP, we recommend designing the domain content mock-ups with a width of 1440px.
