Intro
A reference line can be added to highlight a particular value. Reference lines can be added only to continuous axes, but not to categorical axes.
Examples
The vertical axis of the column chart is continuous and thus can have a reference line.

The horizontal axis of the time bubble chart is a continuous time axis and thus it and can have a reference line.
