Intro
The Side Navigation is an established navigation paradigm. It works well with a larger set of navigational entries and larger applications. There are multiple variants of the Side Navigation on the different technology and application stacks.
This is an overview on the Side Navigation variants there are at CX UX.
Overview
Emarsys
Main menu items are categories, and their contents are displayed as sub menus.
The main menu items reflect the product narrative, that is the primary capabilities of Emarsys:
Analytics, Automation, Content, Channels, Contacts, Management.
Beyond these categories, there's Featured to highlight important products and new releases, and Add-ons for expansions.

C4C
The Navigation menu is accessible from the shell bar. It provides quick navigation from anywhere within the application.
Commerce
Commerce uses the embedded variant of the side navigation. They are not using the overlay-only variant.
XL – M uses the expanded variant of the side navigation: While expanded, the side navigation displays icons and text and the main area of the app adapts its size to the remaining space. The app initially loads with the side navigation expanded.
S uses a full-screen side navigation. The app initially loads with the side navigation hidden.
