Help-Needs Analysis
UA Strategy / Content Planning
Introduction
The goal of the help needs analysis is to understand the user needs in terms of user assistance, define the corresponding deliverables, and prioritize the UA efforts. It should help authors (and product owners) focus on the important topics first.
Guidelines
Follow the Mural template for Help-Needs Analysis to plan your activities and tasks (the template is published in the SAP BTP Mural workspace):
- The aim of this template is to guide you through the process of defining which UA deliverables make sense to be created for your particular case, how to prioritize your efforts and how to constantly improve. Feel free to modify the sections and order if that makes sense for your scenario.
- Plan the help-needs analysis as a combination of focus work and workshops - for some sections, it is more helpful to prepare alone or in small groups; for others, workshops with broader audience will be more beneficial.
- Adapt the template to your needs and service - if parts of the analysis already exist, feel free to link to them and define your action items based on them.
- Focus on what's important for your user - If for example, your research shows that you should focus on non-mandatory deliverables first, prioritize those.
- Reuse the already available research material, created by the PO/PM/UX teams; analyze the already defined action items and conclusions.
