This section describes all the tasks that a customer needs to handle to stop using the service.
Basic Considerations
The following questions might help you when collecting information for this chapter:
What steps does a customer need to do to stop using the service?
- Are these just the standard tasks typical for SAP BTP (unsubscribing from the service, releasing quota, entitlements, etc.)?
- Does the customer need to perform additional steps such as manually export data, delete connectivity configurations, certificates, authorizations, etc.?
- Does the customer need to inform its own customers?
- Are there any services dependent on this service? If the answer is yes, warn your customers that some applications or services may stop working correctly
Usage of Multiple Topics
You can provide all relevant information in a single topic, or you can provide multiple topics for a set of complex tasks required for offboarding.
Topic Contents
Title: Service Offboarding
Use "Service Offboarding" as title of your (root) topic. Do not replace it with another title.
Multiple Topics
If you provide one topic for each task that you want to describe, use the task as topic title. Group all of these topics under the root topic "Service Offboarding".
Unsubscribe from the Service/Stop Using the Service
Use the following steps:
- Delete your service instances.
See Deleting Service Instances. - Remove the entitlements in the corresponding subaccounts.
- Contact your account executive to cancel the subscriptions for the service.
Note that unsubscribing from the service does not necessarily mean that the customer wants to terminate their global account(s) and contact with SAP. You can, however, add links to more information regarding those aspects.
