The page “Service Plans and Metering” gathers all information needed for the customer to understand the relationship between the content of the Discovery Center and the content of the BTP Cockpit, as well as any information needed to understand how the service is billed. This page is only mandatory for services using capacity units as metrics, however if you think that it would be useful for your users, please feel free to set up one in your service guide.
This page is the responsibility of the UA developer with the help of the service owner.
Getting Started
Creating the Topic in the CMS
Clone the template topic (loioc4c33e027f0c4cba929598ee127b112c) with a new LOIO.
Refer to the section "Structure of the Page" to identify which sections should be displayed for your service.
The section "Guidelines" details how each part of the page should be filled.
Location
In the service guide, create the topic under the section "What Is … ?". Example:
If the service is also documented in the SAP Business Technology Platform guide, include the topic in the service section. Example:
Topic Title
If the topic is used in the SAP Business Technology Platform guide, include the short name of the service in the title. This applies even if the topic is also used in the service guide.
In the topic is only used in the service guide, don't include the name of the service.
Examples:
Structure of the Page
This table lists all available sections of the page “Service Plans and Metering” along with the description of each section's content, whether the section applies to your service, and the stakeholders to contact to get the information you need to fill the section.
Note that not all sections apply to all services. Check the When to Use column to know whether the section should appear in the page related to your service.

Guidelines
Introduction
This section is mandatory.
Enter the introduction in the topic short description. Use the following text:
This page explains the relationship between the service plans in the SAP Discovery Center and those in the SAP BTP Cockpit and provides information to help you understand how the service is billed.
Use the template CostUsageTransparency_Graph_Template.pptx to create the graph corresponding to the relationship between the service plans listed in the Discovery Center and their technical counterpart in the BTP Cockpit.
Import the Powerpoint file in the CMS as a graphic.
Add the note: For more information, please refer to Commercial Models.
Note for New Services
The relationship between Service plan in the Discovery Center and the service plans in the BTP Cockpit should be:
1 to 1 if there is only an API. For example:
1 to 2 if there is an instance and a user interface. For example:
Section "Service Plans"
Section "Discovery Center: Service Plans"
This section is optional. Only add it if there is a discrepancy between the service plans in the SAP Discovery Center and the service plans in the SAP BTP Cockpit, such as no service plans in the SAP BTP cockpit.
Re-use the names from the Service Plan section of the service Data Sheet to fill the Name column.
If needed, add a comment explaining the relationship between the service plan in the Discovery Center and what is displayed in the BTP Cockpit.
Enter the link to the Discovery Center corresponding to each service plan.
Example
<div> <div>Name</div> <div>Comment</div> <div>Link to the SAP Discovery Center</div> </div> <div> <div>Standard</div> <div>There is no technical implementation for this service plan in the SAP BTP Cockpit. Section "BTP Cockpit: Service Plans"
This section is mandatory.
In the Name column of the table template, enter the names of the service plans listed in the BTP Cockpit.
For each entered name, enter in the Discovery Center column the corresponding service plan name from the Discovery Center.
For each entered name, enter in the Description column the service plan description. The description must be aligned with the one on the BTP Cockpit.
Below the table, add a link to your product pricing page in the Discovery Center.
Add the note For more information regarding the consumption motels, please check Commercial Models.

Section "Metrics"
This section is mandatory.
How to fill the metrics table
Identify the metrics corresponding to your service in the Metrics Reference Table. They should correspond to the ones displayed in the Service Overview schema (section 1.1)
If your service uses a recommended term:
Copy/paste the line corresponding to your metric in the metrics table of the commercial information page.
If your service uses a deprecated term or a variant:
Copy/paste the line corresponding to the recommended term.
In the Metric column, replace the metric name by the term actually used for your service.
Delete the column Examples of Services Using this Metric.
Specifics for New Services
Choosing the Metrics when Creating a New Service
Review the metric list in the section “Metrics Reference Table” below.
Identify the best fitting metrics.
Recommendations
If a service plan has more than 3-4 metrics, you should suggest the service owner to use the metric capacity unit.
If no available metric answers your needs, please contact <contact name> before creating one.

Section "Backward Calculation"
This section is mandatory for services using Capacity Unit as a metric, and optional for others.
Metrics in the discovery center can be split in different metrics in the cockpit, so you need to provide the customer with a way to calculate the usage and the cost so that they understand the relationship between both and why they've been billed that way.
Section "Formula"
Provide the formula for backward calculation or explain the relationship between the metrics constituting the capacity unit.
Section "Underlying Metrics"
Detail the underlying metrics used in the backward calculation
Section "Example"
Provide concrete examples of calculation to illustrate how the formula should be used.
Section "Calculator"
This section is mandatory for services using Capacity Unit as a metric, and optional for others.
To find this information you need to get familiar with your service calculator by getting in contact with the developer who created the calculator, understand how it is built, find if they used the same terms, same units, and so on.
Specify the name of the section as stated in the SAP Business Technology Platform Service Description Guide.
If the section about your service states "The Cloud Service is subject to the “<Service name>” Supplemental Terms and Conditions, published on the SAP Agreements website, referenced in the Order Form, and is not subject to the SAP Business Technology Platform Supplemental Terms and Conditions.":
In the search engine, search for <Service name> as mentioned in the section about your service.
Copy the search URL from the address bar.
In the information page, create a link with the name of the supplement as text and the search URL as address. Do not link the document directly since it may be updated often, thus changing the link.
This section is optional. You can use it to provide information on the service behavior if is different from other services, be it commercially or technically.
Examples
Kyma
Runtime details
Cost of Using SAP BTP Services in the <service> Environment - pay as soon as Kyma is activated
Cloud Foundry
When you activate Cloud Foundry in subscription, you will only pay when you deploy an app.
