Overview
SAP icons are designed for straightforward, direct user interaction. Available in various themes like Horizon and Quartz, these resizable vector graphics are primarily delivered in font format.
SAP Icons are the main and default icons for all products within SAP. Always make use of these icons first. TNT Icons are technology-specific icons for integration and extension scenarios.FPA Icons are product-specific icons for SAP Analytics Cloud and SAP Datasphere.
Icon Format
SAP delivers icons in a font format by default. The icon fonts contain multiple icons in one file with a small file size, making it convenient to deliver updates with each SAP product release. Custom icons can even replace the icon fonts if an alternative format or style is desired. Additional icon font files can also be added to the SAPUI5 icon pool.
To ensure the availability of SAP, FPA, and TNT Icons for all technologies supported by SAP, the sets are part of the theming base content and also part of OpenUI5. SAP, FPA, and TNT Icons are made available under the Apache 2.0 license.

SAP Icons
SAP Icons are available in the Horizon theme as the default visual style for SAP Products and older themes like Quartz for specific cases and products.
SAP Icons have been redesigned for the Horizon theme with a fresh, friendly, yet bolder style consistent in size, stroke, and balance. Quartz-themed icons' styles can be described as simple, fresh, serious, and neutral. However, the approach is meant to communicate the simplicity, sophistication, and integrity represented by SAP solutions.
The design language for SAP Icons used within SAP products is created to work across all supported browsers, devices, and operating systems.
When to use
Product teams should always make use of SAP Icons first. SAP Icons are the primary source for any icon usage in all products within SAP. Additional icons like TNT or FPA should only be used if scenarios can't be covered by SAP Icons.

Icon Design & Release Process
Requesting and Delivering Icons
Our team operates on a monthly release cycle aligned with the development cycle for updating icon fonts. We suggest submitting your request between weeks 3 and 4 of each month to increase efficiency. This will include your icon request in the upcoming icon-font release. Any submissions during the blackout period (weeks 1 and 2) will be shifted to the next release cycle, as these weeks are dedicated to design production.
When we receive your request, our team will review its validity and add it to the design queue if approved. You will receive an estimated production timeline and the opportunity to support the final design before its inclusion in the release wave. Approved icons are added to the development release wave for icon fonts and are available in all related design resources. Ensure to follow the sign-off process, so your hero makes it to the next release wave.
