SAP North America Corporate Social Responsibility

SAP recognizes and embraces its commitment to the communities in which we operate in the United States and Canada. Our social investment strategy is based on our vision to help the world run better and improving people's lives.

Our approach is driven by four core principles:

Create social impact. Make strategic social investments that have a lasting benefit on society.

Generate lasting impact on SAP. Align approach to support our market and people strategy.

Engage multiple stakeholders. Drive innovation through a multi-faceted dialogue with internal and external stakeholders.

SAP Grant Program

2018 North America Regional Funding Guidelines

For 2018, we will focus on having partnerships in new geographies. We will continue to align with programs and nonprofit partners concentrating on computer science education and building a diverse workforce. To achieve this goal, we believe STEM education, an entrepreneurial mindset and passion for design are crucial for the exploration of technology studies and technology career pathways.

In 2018, SAP will accept grant applications between March 5 and April 9 through the Benevity granting platform. Recipients will be notified by June 1, 2018.

SAP will not be accepting new applications in the following metropolitan areas in the US: Bay Area/Silicon Valley (CA), Boston (MA), New York (NY), Philadelphia (PA), Atlanta (GA) and Chicago (IL). In 2019, we will re-evaluate the locations in which we will accept new applications.

Volunteerism at SAP

SAP encourages employee volunteerism year-round through company- and employee-led engagements. We partner with different Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) to create positive social change in our communities  across the United States and Canada. We believe in the power of volunteering.

Our signature corporate-led volunteering initiative is our Month of Service held in October annually, where more than 300 projects are executed across North America. We also encourage employee-led volunteerism throughout the year. In April 2017 we launched our first “Spring Into Service” initiative, a campaign where employees themselves identify, plan and implement service projects for causes they are passionate about.

In 2017, over 10,500 SAP employees volunteered more than 41,000 hours in 35 cities. Additionally, employees contributed more than 9,800 hours of their time and talents through to skills-based volunteering, with a focus on STEM education and entrepreneurship programs.
