Trade Capital Corporation® (TCC™) is dedicated to delivering capital-efficient supply chains™ for manufacturers with its supply chain management platform, 1TCC®. Starting with a third-party ERP solution to manage its own operations, TCC quickly realised the need for the advanced capabilities of SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition to match its expanding partnerships and the growing complexity of global trade.

Navigating supply chain complexity for companies all over the world

Trade Capital Corporation (TCC) has long championed capital-efficient supply chains for global corporations. With a client base of large manufacturers and original equipment manufacturers, TCC’s success relies on its ability to innovate technology platforms that streamline inventory management and optimise capital allocation.

This mission is no easy feat, especially in an era of intensifying complexity across global supply chains and turbulent economic conditions. “Supply chains are doable, but they’re complex”, notes Sanjay Bonde, CEO of TCC. “Right now, the global economic climate demands tight operations to meet corporate expectations.”

Initially, TCC adopted a third-party ERP solution. However, as the company expanded and began working with large, complex manufacturing corporations, the limitations of this seemingly cost-efficient choice became clear.

“Our previous ERP had basic functionalities for running a business; but when dealing with large organisations, the complexities quickly outpaced the system’s capabilities”, Bonde explains. “Customisations multiplied, but they created challenges in scalability and maintenance.”

TCC knew that managing such a large footprint with the precision and flexibility demanded by today’s competitive landscape would be nearly impossible without advanced solutions. It needed more-comprehensive technologies to effectively monitor, trace and manage processes across its global supply chain. These technologies were essential for real-time control, tracking and dynamic process management, helping ensure its operations could remain efficient and adaptable.

Supply chain and working capital risks caused by geopolitical and economic turbulence severely impact global businesses. Choosing SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition made perfect sense for 1TCC because of its adaptability and comprehensive change control processes critical for derisking supply chains.

Driving agile and scalable business growth with modern ERP capabilities

Recognising the need for a comprehensive and scalable solution, TCC transitioned to SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition. Remarkably, the implementation was handled entirely in-house. TCC’s IT team tested and deployed the cloud ERP in 67 days by using a rapid prototyping approach.

“SAP has been addressing complex business challenges for many years. Since SAP maintains the cloud ERP, we can focus on improving our customer relationships”, Bonde says.

By adopting SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition and adhering to the clean core approach, TCC reduced the complexity of its systems and processes and paved the way to long-term adaptability. This setup helped the company significantly minimise the need for customisations – enabling easier maintenance and long-term scalability. In addition, preconfigured scenarios delivered through the cloud ERP allowed quick adoption of best practices.

The cloud ERP also enabled TCC to strengthen its core operational processes – such as procure to pay, order to cash and warehouse management – while offering deeper finance management capabilities. The company now benefits from more-seamless integration across these functionalities, as well as enhanced visibility into plant operations, multicurrency capabilities and precise management of global supply chain nuances.

Other SAP solutions, such as SAP Signavio solutions, were integrated with SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition to help support real-time workflow management and quality control to proactively address supply chain challenges.

“All those capabilities working together with a cost structure that we can live with over the next three to five years make SAP solutions a very compelling investment for us”, underscores Bonde.

Scaling operations efficiently and realising long-term goals

Transitioning from third-party ERP to SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition has transformed TCC’s competitiveness. The company is now better equipped to manage complex, capital-efficient supply chains with greater ease. More importantly, its service offerings and reliability are expanding with advanced capabilities highly valued by Fortune 100 clients, such as supply chain automation, comprehensive financial controls and compliance with global best practices.

The integration of SAP Signavio solutions adds even more value to TCC’s operations. It enabled a centralised platform to define, visualise and manage business processes in one place. Instead of pulling together design documents and specifications scattered across siloed sources, employees are now working in a more streamlined approach with clear and comprehensive visual tools for workflow planning and process control.

“With SAP Signavio, we can see where we are strong and where we are weak. We can also help ensure our processes are documented and standardised”, shares Bonde.

TCC also uses SAP Signavio solutions to support quality management, risk analysis and auditing. This helps ensure its data is more secure and processes are dynamic enough to meet the demands of large-scale supply chain operations.

Furthermore, the adaptability and cost-effective structure of SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition empower TCC to scale without compromising quality. This setup allows the company to focus on its strategic goal: managing US$25 billion in assets within five years while offering top-tier service.

A live, adaptable process is essential to effectively manage today’s complex global networks. And with the comprehensive technologies from SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, we can deliver it.

Partnering with SAP to drive future-ready supply chains worldwide

In an era of intensifying complexity across global supply chains and turbulent economic conditions, SAP technologies continue to play a crucial role in helping TCC monitor, trace and manage processes across its global footprint. These advanced solutions provide real-time control, tracking and dynamic process management, helping ensure TCC’s operations remain efficient, adaptable and aligned with the demands of today’s competitive landscape.

Looking ahead, TCC will continue to configure and build on what it has accomplished since going live with SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.

“By following guidelines from SAP, we’ve kept our core clean, and now we’re focused on building certain components in-house using SAP architecture”, Bonde says. “This will help ensure our systems and processes evolve alongside our strategic goals.”

TCC’s plans include adding SAP Business Technology Platform to enable long-term scalability and flexibility by keeping the core ERP free from unnecessary customisations. Other initiatives on the horizon include adopting SAP Business AI capabilities and the Joule copilot to improve demand forecasting and trend analysis in a rapidly evolving market.

The company also aims to expand its ecosystem connections. Bonde and his leadership team are exploring SAP Business Network to connect with customers and suppliers and the SAP Sales Cloud solution to streamline customer relationship management.

These forward-looking plans underscore TCC’s commitment to innovation, operational excellence and the delivery of unmatched value to its customers.
